As a much sought-after master voice teacher and vocal coach, he is in great demand with singers locally and from around the world. He is also a gifted singer and recording artist, and a well-loved choral conductor, life coach and inspirational writer.

David's private voice studio is comprised of some of Chicago’s most celebrated and successful singers in the musical theater, cabaret and classical genres. His students have received numerous honors and awards and appear on stages across the world, including every major theater and club venue in Chicago, The Ravinia Festival, Broadway and Carnegie Hall in NYC, the cabarets of Paris and the opera stages of Europe. He is a master voice teacher, vocal coach, singer, conductor, accompanist, arranger, life coach and inspirational writer and teaches from his studio on the north side of Chicago. As a singer, declares the Chicago Tribune, David is “a consummate song interpreter... blessed with a luxuriant instrument... [and] probably sounds great singing the weather forecast” - “one of Chicago’s best”. His one-man shows have been called “superlative from start to finish, hilarious, deliciously engaging and simply brilliant.” Over his career, he has sung everything from Mozart to Kander & Ebb across the country and abroad. David's recent performances have found him on stage at Chicago's famous Park West, Davenport’s, Drury Lane Water Tower, Maxim’s, Village Players PAC, Victory Gardens Biograph Theater and Preston Bradley Hall.  His first full-length solo recording, Love is Born at Christmas, was praised nationally, and his brand-new album entitled better was just released this October and is now available!

As choral conductor, Maestro Edelfelt has led choirs and orchestras in many of the great works of the masters, including appearances as guest conductor of the North Shore Choral Society, and since 1998, he  has served as conductor of the Chancel and Motet choirs at the First Presbyterian Church of Libertyville.

“David Edelfelt is a singer's dream.”
